Dr Nair’s commentary on the Rig Veda (in eight volumes) entitled Gurudakshinabhashyamdeserves special mention because it brings to light all the authenticmeanings wrongfully attributed to our religious practices courtesy of Western-educated Indic scholars.. (According to Dr Nair, the sound gauas used in the Veda, does not signify ‘cow’ but ‘ignorance’, the sound aswamdoes not signify ‘horse’ but ‘sensorium’ and ‘aswamedham’ signifies ‘purification of the senses’ and not ‘sacrificing horse’.)
Now in his late eighties, the erudite scholar continues to read, write, and propagate the Sanatana dharma that is genuinely and uniquely the spirit of Bharat and her gift to the world. He is in the last leg of publication of yet another magnum opus on the Ramayana in which also his attempt is to acquit Sri Rama of all the allegations raised against him by liberals. The first volume of the work has already been released.
